Notes:—While describing Impatiens maculata, Wight (1837) mentioned only precise locality ‘Shevagerry’ but he did not provide the number of collection(s) and date. Pertaining to the specification given in the protologue, six specimens of this species collected by Wight were traced (E00174029, K000694950, K000694951, MH7840, P04543540 and P04543541). Of these, the best one K000694951, is designated here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue and also in having drawing of floral parts on the sheet by J.D. Hooker.
