Cephennomicrus japonigenus (Jałoszyński & Hoshina) View in CoL
( Figs 6 View FIGURES 1–7 , 8 View FIGURE 8 )
Neseuthia japonigena Jałoszyński & Hoshina, 2003: 55 View in CoL . New distributional data in Jałoszyński (2005); additional morphological details in Jałoszyński (2009a).
Cephennomicrus japonigenus (Jałoszyński & Hoshina) View in CoL , Jałoszyński, 2008: 33.
Material studied. 1 ♂, Japan, Kyushu, Saga Prefecture, Tara-chō, Mt. Hobashiradake , 600 m, 18.05.2021, flight intercept trap, leg. M. Nishida ( NSMT) .
Remarks. This species is known to occur in Japan (Tokunoshima Is., a part of Kagoshima Prefecture) and the Chinese province of Fujian. The new locality on Kyushu is the first record of Cephennomicrus on this island and relatively distant from both previously known collecting sites. Externally C. japonigenus is a rather unremarkable species, but its aedeagus ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–7 ) is unique in having a strongly basally shifted diaphragm and a lateral pair of elongate bunches composed of slender sclerites flanking a median elongate structure, the latter is narrowing distally.
