Type Locality: Australia, New South Wales, N of Hunter River.
Vernacular Names: Slender-tailed Dunnart.
Synonyms: Sminthopsis albipes ( Waterhouse 1842) ; Sminthopsis tatei Troughton 1965 .
Distribution: SW Western Australia, SE South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, E Queensland.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt) as S. m. tatei ; otherwise Lower Risk (lc). Common.
Discussion: S. murina species-group. See Archer (1979:329, 1981:94-99).
