Distribution: México from S Sonora to Oaxaca, Yucatán, and Tres Marías Isls.
Conservation: IUCN – Data Deficient as Marmosa canescens .
Discussion: Previously known as Marmosa canescens . A mandible recovered from an owl pellet suggests T. canescens also occurs in Baja California Sur (López-Forment and Urbano, 1977).
