Type Locality: Australia, C Victoria, Cambarville region.
Vernacular Names: Mountain Brushtail Possum.
Distribution: Australia: C to NE Victoria, and possibly into S New South Wales (Lindenmayer et al., 2002).
Conservation: Common.
Discussion: Formerly thought to be the southern populations of T. caninus , but distinguished as a new species by Lindenmayer et al. (2002).
