7KLV LV D ODUJH JHQXV WKDW LQFOXGHV PRUH WKDQ ÎƟƟ VSHFLHV LQ WKH 3DODHDUFWLF DQG $IUR‒ WURSLFDO UHJLRQV, DV ZHOO DV D VLQJOH 2ULHQWDO VSHFLHV. 6L[RI WKH VHYHQ VSHFLHV UHFRUGHG EHORZ EHORQJ WR WKH VXEJHQXV Helafricanus. 0DOHV LQ WKLV VXEJHQXV DUH EODFN ZLWK D PHWDOOLF VKLQH DQG ZKLWH PDUNLQJV ()LJ. 4Î), ZKLOH IHPDOHV DUH RIWHQ PRWWOHG EURZQ DQG JUH \ LQ FRORXU, ZLWK D OLJKWHU PHGLDQ DEGRPLQDO VWULSH ()LJ. 4ƻ). 7KH PDOHV LQ WKLV VXEJHQXV KDYH D ODUJH SDWHOODU DSRSK\VLV DQG VPDOO IHPRUDO SURWXEHUDQFH, ZKLOH IH‒ males have seminal ducts directed anteriorly and spermathecae that tend to be coiled (:HVRáRZVND Î98ϭ). 2QH RI WKH VHYHQ VSHFLHV, H. transvaalicus Simon, 1901 , belongs to the subgenus Heliophanus, PDOHV RI ZKLFK FDQ EH UHFRJQL ]HG E\ WKH ODUJH IHPRUDO apophysis and additional femoral protuberances, and females by the presence of a single ODUJH RU WZR VPDOO FRSXODWRU\ RSHQLQJV (:HVRáRZVND Î98ϭ). 0HPEHUV RI WKLV VXEJHQXV are not sexually dimorphic, and colouration is similar in both sexes (Figs43,44).A further seven Heliophanus VSHFLHV KDYH EHHQ UHFRUGHG IURP FHQWUDO 6RXWK $IULFD (ZLWKLQ WKH SUHVHQW VWXG\ DUHD) LQ UHFHQW SDSHUV (:HVRáRZVND Î98ϭ, ƻƟƟ, ƻƟƟ9;:HVRáRZVND & +DGGDG ƻƟƟƻ), EXW DUH QRW GHDOW ZLWK IXUWKHU KHUH DV QR DGGLWLRQDO ORFDOLWLHV KDYH EHHQ QRWHG: H. (Heliocapensis) charlesi : HVRáRZVND, ƻƟƟ, H. (Heliocapensis) deserticola Simon, 1901 , H. (Helafricanus) patellaris Simon, 1901 , H. (Heliophanus) sororius : HVRáRZVND, ƻƟƟ, H.
