Arvanitidis (2000a) lists Aegean records of Mystides borealis Théel, 1879 under the name Mystides caeca , following Pleijel and Dales (1991) and Pleijel (1993) who consider Mediterranean specimens to belong to Mystides caeca . No published reports of Mystides caeca exist from Greece but the presence of the species has been confirmed recently (K. Keklikoglou, unpublished data).
