Peckia (Peckia) uncinata ( Hall, 1933)

( Figs 18 View FIGURES 11–20 , 36 View FIGURES 35–38 , 99–104 View FIGURES 99–104 )

Description of female terminalia. Posterior margin of T5 elliptical, brown, with golden and gray microtrichosity ( Figs 102–104 View FIGURES 99–104 ). T6 divided into two halves, orange, with golden microtrichosity, covered with setulae and with a row of setae near posterior margin. Spiracles 6 and 7 located on T6. T8 absent ( Figs 99, 102 View FIGURES 99–104 ). Epiproct triangular, with a row of fine setae. Cercus covered with long and fine setae. Hypoproct triangular, covered with long and fine setae ( Fig. 100 View FIGURES 99–104 ). ST6 rectangular, with lateral margin projected laterally, covered with setulae except basally and with setae near posterior margin. ST7 square, with setulae restricted to posterior half and with setae near posterior margin. ST8 wider than long, with few setulae ( Fig. 99 View FIGURES 99–104 ). Spermathecae rounded, with conspicuous grooves on their surface and a small rounded chamber where they receive the spermathecal duct ( Fig. 101 View FIGURES 99–104 ).

Material examined. BRAZIL. Amapá: Mazagão , 26.XI.1981, suspended trap at a height of 20 m, leg. I.S. Gorayeb (1 ♂, MPEG) . Mato Grosso: Juína , V.1985, leg. O. Roppa & B. Silva (2 ♀♀, MNRJ) . Pará: Serra Norte , N-1 canga [vegetation on rocky outcrop], 7.VII.1985, suspended trap at a height of 20 m (1 ♂, MPEG) .

Distribution in Brazil. Amazonas, Amapá, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Pernambuco, São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro.

Remarks. The female terminalia of P. (P.) uncinata are similar to those of P. (P.) chrysostoma and P. (P.) pexata in having ST8 wider than long. Peckia (P.) uncinata differs from P. (P.) chrysostoma in having posterior margin of ST8 folded, and from P. (P.) pexata in having ST7 with robust setae near posterior margin. In P. (P.) chrysostoma ST8 is flattened and the posterior margin of ST8 of P. (P.) pexata has no robust setae.
