Diagnosis. Dorsal and ventral head spinulose. Antennal tubercles developed, diverging with inner margins scabrous, middle frontal tubercle slightly prominence. Antennae 6-segmented, shorter or longer than body, antennal segment III in apterae with or without secondary rhinaria, antennal segments III and IV in alatae with round protuberant secondary rhinaria in a row; primary rhinaria with or without cilia. First tarsal chaetotaxy: 4,4,4 or 4,4,3. Siphunculi cylindrical, with scattered spinulous imbrications, and 6–10 rows of reticulations under flange. Cauda in apterae coniform, distal half slightly constricted and in alatae more elongated than in apterae, and with 4–6 setae. Veins of wing normal.

Comments. Genus Macromyzus in the subfamily Aphidinae is divided into two subgenera, Macromyzus and Anthracosiphoniella, and is restricted to East Asia ( Remaudière & Remaudière, 1997, Blackman & Eastop, 2006), including China, India, Japan, Korea and Nepal. Most of aphids of the genus are poorly known taxonomically, and often rarely found again after their original description. Moreover, their biology usually is little known.
