Rhabdosoma White, 1847 , not Adams, 1847 or Adams & White, 1849 ( Amphipoda : Physocephalata: Oxycephalidae )

The genus-group name Rhabdosoma was made available in White (1847a: 130) by his inclusion of the available species-group name Oxycephalus armatus H. Milne Edwards, 1840 , the type species by monotypy. Adams (1847c: 517) and Adams & White (1849: 63) also used the genus-group name Rhabdosoma in a manner similar to White (1847a: 130). As the usage of the name by White (1847a: 130) has priority, authorship of the genus-group name Rhabdosoma is to be attributed to White (1847a). This genus is currently considered to be valid (see Vinogradov et al. 1996: 535).
