Lectotype (Dandy, Sloane Herbarium: 112. 1958): [icon] "Anona foliis Laurinis, in summitate incisis; fructu compresso scabro fusco, in medio acumine longo" in Catesby, Nat. Hist. Carolina 2: 87, t. 87. 1743. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 232: 15 ( BM-SL) .

Current name: Manilkara bahamensis (Baker) H.J. Lam & A. Meeuse View in CoL ( Sapotaceae ).

Note: A superfluous name for Sloanea emarginata L. (1753) .
