( Figs 9, 10 View Figures 9–12 , 17 View Figures 17–19 )

Type material. Holotype ( Figs 9 View Figures 9–12 , 17 View Figures 17–19 ): male, “Nord-Vietnam | Mt. Fan-si-pan | Cha pa, 2400m NN | 8.– 29.V.1993 leg. | Sinajev [recte: Sinyaev] & Simonov | Museum Witt” / “Slide | ZSM Arct. | 2021- 422♂ | A. Volynkin ” ( MWM / ZSM).

Paratype. VIETNAM: 1 male, [border of Lai Châu and Lào Cai Provinces] 1600m, Mt. Fan-si-pan (north), Cha-pa , primary forest, 22°17'N 103°44'E, 20–30.IV.1995, V GoogleMaps . Sinyaev & loc. coll. leg., gen. prep. No.: ZSM Arct. 2021 - 421♂ (prepared by Volynkin ) ( MWM / ZSM) .

Diagnosis. The forewing length is 11.0–12.0 mm in males. Dolgoma brevivalva sp. n. is externally reminiscent of D. kawila Volynkin & Černý, 2021 ( Fig. 11 View Figures 9–12 ) and D. striola Dubatolov, Kishida & Wang, 2012 ( Fig. 12 View Figures 9–12 ) but differs from the former species in the somewhat narrower forewing, and from D. striola in the smaller head, and the brown body and forewing ground colour, which is ochreous yellow in the congener. The male genitalia of D. brevivalva sp. n. are fundamentally different from D. kawila ( Fig. 19 View Figures 17–19 ) due to the thicker uncus, the markedly shorter and broader valva, the larger phallus, and the broader vesica bearing heavier scobination, and are most similar to D. striola ( Fig. 18 View Figures 17–19 ). However, the new species is distinguished from D. striola by the somewhat longer and thicker uncus, the slightly longer and broader valva, the phallus having a well-developed carina, and the vesica bearing larger spinules of the lateral diverticulum.

The female is unknown.

Distribution. Northern Vietnam (border of Lai Châu and Lào Cai Provinces).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ‘brevis’ meaning ‘short’ and refers to the remarkably short valva of the new species.
