Distribution. Northern Africa, Southeastern Europe, Caucasus, Western Asia, Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan ( Zalesskaja & Schileyko 1991, 1992; Simiakis & Edgecombe 2013; Dyachkov 2020b).

Previous records. Sughd Region: Mastchoh District (?) (“Matcha”). Obviously, the Mastchoh District is more suitable for the S. canidens : more arid and low (ca. 300–800 m a.s.l. vs. 1900–2000 m a.s.l. (a lowest place) in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh District) ( Zalesskaja & Schileyko 1992).

Remarks. This species is new to the Districts of Republican Subordination and the Khatlon Region.
