Taxon discussion

Hypericum sprucei (Fig. 2 D,d) has been reported from a handful of provinces in Ecuador. It belongs to section Hypericum Brathys (Mutis ex L.f.) Choisy.

Here, we present an additional record for a new province ( Bolívar). This species is not included in the Ecuadorian Red List.
