25. Ponera laeviceps HNS .
Worker. Length 3 lines.-Black, smooth and shining: the head elongate, with a few striae on each side of the clypeus; the latter triangular, with a central longitudinal raised carina; above the clypeus a central impressed line runs half way towards the posterior margin of the vertex. Thorax narrowed into a short neck in front, behind which it is swollen, thence it is compressed and narrowed to the apex, which is oblique and transversely rugose; the tarsi pale rufo-testaceous. Abdomen: a deep strangulation between the first and second segments; the node of the peduncle rounded and elevated.
