BolbaOEer splendidus species-group
The B. splendidus species-group consists of two species, B. bremeri and B. splendidus . Males and females share: distribution in West Africa. Males share: outer margin of mandible very feebly sinuate; apex of protibial spur modi®ed; outer metatibial spur hooked; posterior margin of sternite 4 medially produced (®gure 7d, g); sternite 5 medially almost completely hidden by sternite 4 (®gure 7d, g); sternite 6 postero-medially deeply divided, with elongate, apically rounded process on each side of division (®gure 7e, h); genital capsule apically with very long setation; and similar aedeagal shape (®gure 8a±g). Females share: outer margin of mandible rounded; density of punctation between pronotal carinate swelling and anterior pronotal margin considerably less than in other pronotal areas; feeble modi®cations on sternite 3 or sternites 3 / 4, respectively (®gure 8h±j); sternites 5 and 6 unmodi®ed; and pygidium feebly modi®ed or unmodi®ed.
