Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. Pará , s.d., Martius 11 ( U0004677 !).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the herbarium where the type of Urostigma cestrifolium forma major was deposited, it only reports that the species was collected by Martius in the Brazilian Amazon region . Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cited as the type (in the work as “ holotype ”) the material deposited in the U herbarium, however, this cannot be considered a lectotypification because it was published after 2001 and the “designated here” or a similar phrase was not used ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 7.11). We did not find a duplicate in the Munich Herbarium ( M). Here we designate the material U0004677 as the lectotype because it is the only material found and is in accordance with the description of the protologue .
Taxonomical notes:— Ficus cestrifolia f. major was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004) as Ficus pertusa .
