Genus Acalymma Barber, 1947 View in CoL
Acalymma Barber, 1947a: 154 View in CoL (type species Acalymma gouldi Barber, 1947 , by original designation).
Remarks
This genus contains about 80 described species. They are distributed from Canada through much of South America, as well as in West Indies. See Figs 77–78 View Figs 73–81 for habitus illustrations. See Bechyné (1958), Bechyné & Bechyné (1968), Munroe & Smith (1980), and Cabrera (1999) for keys to many of the species. Some of the smaller beetles are very similar to some of the small Isotes , and their generic placements warrant reevaluation.
