Key to species of Cherax View in CoL in the mid to upper Murray River system
1. Chelae broad, width usually> 0.5 dactyl length, lateral propodal margin rough, mesial dactylar basal spines present and 2 prominent teeth on dactylar cutting edge, ventral surface of propodus with widespread bristle setae; 1 mesial carpal spine (flat, stout and curved anteriorly), carpus lacking setae over mesial margin; dorsal meral spines present (often very small); rostral apical spine absent; rostrum broad; cervical spines absent or tiny............................ Cherax latimanus sp. nov.
- Chelae narrow to stout, width usually <0.5 dactyl length, lateral propodal margin smooth; mesial dactylar basal spines absent and 1 prominent tooth on dactylar cutting edge, ventral surface of propodus lacking setae;> 1 mesial carpal spine (1 large and others smaller), mesial carpal margin distinctly setose; dorsal meral spines usually absent; rostral apical spine present; rostrum narrow; cervical spines present, medium to large.....................................
