Phycus marginatus Kröber, 1912: 5 . Type locality: "Africa? Drory". Holotype female, Austria, Vienna, Naturhistorisches Museum Wien (NMW).

Phycus bicinctus Kröber, 1924: 87 . Type locality: "Cairo, 17.V.18 ". Holotype female, ESEC, destroyed (synonymy by Lyneborg 1978).

Phycus sobrinus Brunetti, 1929: 11 . Type locality: "Khartoum, 31.12.17, R.Cottam, No. 12525". Holotype female, United Kingdom, London, The Natural History Museum (BMNH) (synonymy by Lyneborg 1978).

Local distribution. Lower Nile.

Geographical distribution. Chad, Congo, Egypt, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan.
