Examined material. 1 male, Mazandaran: Rudbar (Curti) (23 km SE Ramsar), 1000 m, 9.VI.2001, G. Sama (VII.2001 ex pupa on Carpinus sp.) ( CLB) ; 1 female, Elburs Mts. 1000 m, Bodemayer ( NMB, coll. Frey) ; 1 male, 1 female, Pers. Kopet-Dagh ( NMB) ; 2 males, 2 females, Pers. Kopet-Dagh , Siaret [= Golestan: Ziarat], 1160 m, V.1899, ex coll. Hauser (ex coll. J.P. Lacroix) ( CLB) ; 6 males, 3 female, same data ( NMB, coll. Frey) ; 2 males, 2 females, W Guilan, surr. Masuleh, about 1200 m, 2.VII.1957, W. Erber ( CKDS) .

Distribution. Azerbaijan, Iran ( Hatch 1928; Bartolozzi & Sprecher-Uebersax 2006; Bunalski et al. 2014).

Distribution in Iran. Golestan, Khorasan ( Reitter 1902), Guilan, Mazandaran ( Král 2004; Fujita 2010), West Azarbaijan ( Sakenin et al. 2008).

Remarks. The record of Sinodendron cylindricum (Linnaeus, 1758) from West Azarbaijan ( Sakenin et al. 2008) may refer to this species. Fujita (2010) records the species from Guilan, 20 km E Khalkhal (1900 m), 13- 16.V.2000. The species was reported in Iran on Buxus sempervirens (Buxaceae) ( Sakenin et al. 2008); an examined specimen was obtained from a pupa found in rotten Carpinus (Betulaceae) wood.

Dinera ferina (Fallén, 1817) ( Diptera : Tachinidae : Dexiinae : Dexiini ) was collected from the larvae of Sinodendron from Ramsar (Mazandaran province). The natural history of the parasitoid was studied by Campadelli (1989).
