Types. Holotype: male from Réserve Naturelle National de la Trinité, French Guiana [4.583333ºN, 53.3ºW], X.2010, C. Courtial (MPEG 21118). Paratypes: one female, same data as holotype (MPEG 21119); one male and one female, same data as holotype (MNHN); one male from Guyana [6.766667ºN, 58.166667ºW], no date, G.W. Peckham & E.G. Peckham (MCZ 128626).

Additional material examined. FRENCH GUIANA: Reserve Naturelle National de la Trinité [4.583333ºN, 53.3ºW], 2m 1f, X.2010, C. Courtial ( MPEG 21121).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Cyril Courtial, who collected most type specimens.

Diagnosis. Males of S. cyrili ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 80 – 97 ) resemble those of S. kunai ( Fig. 98 View FIGURES 98 – 107 ) by the ventral projection near the opening of the sperm duct, but can be recognized by the embolar projections (including DEA), which are more developed in this species. Females can be recognized by the small, juxtaposed spermathecae ( Fig. 149 View FIGURES 144 – 149. S ).

Description. Male (holotype). Total length: 2.87. Carapace light brown, 1.45 long, 1.08 wide, 0.84 high ( Fig. 144 View FIGURES 144 – 149. S ). Ocular quadrangle 0.99 long. Anterior eye row 0.91 wide and posterior 0.76 wide. Palp yellow ( Figs 145‒146 View FIGURES 144 – 149. S ); RvTA poorly developed, no ITA; embolus with a complex tip and stout DEA. Legs 1432, yellow. Length of femur: I 1.26, II 0.81, III 0.98, IV 0.99; patella + tibia: I 1.63, II 1.00, III 0.92, IV 1.20; metatarsus + tarsus: I 1.27, II 0.97, III 1.07, IV 1.28. Spination on ventral tibia I: 2-2-2-0-2. Abdomen cream-colored ( Fig. 144 View FIGURES 144 – 149. S ), dorsally with an anterior brown chevron and a median chevron that extends almost to the posterior border; ventrally with dark spot close to spinnerets.

Female (MPEG paratype). Total length: 3.07. Carapace light brown, 1.46 long, 0.99 wide, 0.72 high ( Fig. 147 View FIGURES 144 – 149. S ). Ocular quadrangle 0.81 long. Anterior eye row 0.99 wide and posterior 0.88 wide. Legs 4132, yellow. Length of femur: I 0.95, II 0.78, III 0.76, IV 1.03; patella + tibia: I 1.29, II 0.96, III 0.91, IV 1.22; metatarsus + tarsus: I 0.99, II 0.84, III 0.93, IV 1.24. Spination as in male.
