Type species Typhlodromus (Amblyseius) terrestris Chant, 1959: 108 .
The genus Proprioseiopsis has been divided into two species group viz, belizensis and peruvianus by Chant & Mc-Murtry (2005a), based on the well sclerotised dorsal shield, often smooth; sternal shield as wide or wider than long, reticulated; ventrianal shield pentagonal and reticulated; leg I with or without macrosetae; female with idiosomal setal pattern 10A:8E/ JV -3: ZV. The present species belonging to the belizensis species group which lack macrosetae on leg I.
