Fig. 2I, J View FIGURE 2
Distribution: Argentina: Buenos Aires, Misiones; Bolívia: Santa Cruz; Brazil: Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina; Paraguay: Paraguarí; Uruguay: Montevideo.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: Individuals of this species were collected on grasses of open vegetation.
Bioacoustics ( Fig. 4D–F View FIGURE 4 ): Males of this species produced two kinds of echemes, one of long duration (I), and other of short duration (II). The echemes of long duration are produced on the beginning of the echeme sequence, however, they can also be emitted during the sequences. The syllables of opening stroke presenting higher amplitude than those related to the closing strokes. The syllables of closing strokes are short, with a lower dominant frequency (ca. 12 kHz), whereas, those related to the opening strokes are long and with a higher frequency (higher than 20 kHz).
Dominant frequency: ca. 19.8 ± 2.6 kHz.
Bandwidth: 10.8 ± 2.4 kHz.
Duration: Syllables: 0.31 ± 0.2 s.
Mute interval: Syllable: 0.4 ± 0.2 s; Echemes: 1.7 ± 0.7 s.
