Distribution: Semi-cosmopolitan.
Records in Ecuador: Galápagos (Islas: Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal) and Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve ) .
Habitat: Isla Santa Cruz: Scalesia forest near Cerro Crocker; moist leaf litter; fern-sedge zone near Puntudo; moist fern litter. Isla San Cristóbal: Miconia zone around lake El Junco; moist, decayed leaf litter under Miconia robinsoniana and Pteridium aquilinum . Moist zone. Bark, organic litter and the upper soil layer, especially from Graffenrieda emarginata litter.
