Distribution: Neotropical.

Records in Ecuador: Pichincha (Between Quito and Nono, 8 km to Nono, Pasochoa National Park , at 6 km leaving Paluguillo, near Paluguillo in the direction of Pifo), Cotopaxi (Naranjito, San Francisco de las Pampas, ridge running out towards Toachi), Napo (Cosanga-Las Caucheras) and Pastaza (Tnte. Hugo Ortiz).

Habitat: Moss from stems of shrubs from about 30 m above creek level, mossy litter and soil from below ferns in the shrubby secondary forest, sclerophyllous litter and soil of the shrubby secondary forest, moss and soil from below closed shrubs of the shrubby secondary forest, moss and soil from a small clearing of the shrubby secondary forest, moss hanging, thick moss and soil from almost vertical wall, litter and soil below trees, tussocks and detritus, moss and cushion plants, paper-like bark of trees bordering a stream, moss and other plants growing on wet soil, from stream level. Debris and moss cover of decomposing tree stump, mould from below the bark of a cut tree trunk, in the flat forest patch. Decomposing debris and moss cover of tree trunk lying on the clear-cut area. Litter and soil of primary forest patch.
