Distribution: Neotropical and sub-Antarctic: I. Malvinas.

Records in Ecuador: Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve and Podocarpus National Park-Bombuscaro) and Loja (andean mountain region of the Loja valley).

Habitat: Leaf litter and forest soil. Abandoned pasture soil. Soil and litter of pine ( Pinus patula ) and alder ( Alnus acuminata ). Litterbags of Puteria sp., Cavendishia zamorensis , Mollinedia sp. , Graffenrieda emarginata and Hediosmum sp.
