Loxsomopsis Christ, Bull. Herb. Boissier View in CoL , sér. 2, 4(5): 399. 1904
This genus differs from Loxsoma by details of the sporangium, with about two-thirds of the annulus cells thickened (vs. only apical cells thickened) and which open transversally (vs. longitudinally). In Bolivia, Loxsomopsis may most easily be confused with species of Dennstaedtia , but these have cup-shaped, rather than tubular indusia, and the sporangia are borne on a columnar receptacle (vs. a flat or slightly convex receptacle). The annulus in Loxsomataceae is slightly oblique and only partially indurate (vs. vertical and fully indurate in Dennstaedtiaceae ).
