TYPE LOCALITY: Zambia, Barotseland, Chobe Valley, near Libonta (40°30'S, 23°15'E) GoogleMaps .

DISTRIBUTION: S Zaire, Zambia, Malawi and S Tanzania south to N Angola, NE Namibia, N Botswana ; vagrant in N Zimbabwe.

SYNONYMS: senganus.

COMMENTS: Included in kob by Haltenorth (1963:92) but see Ansell (1972:44).
