TYPE LOCALITY: South Africa .

DISTRIBUTION: NE Ethiopia and SE Sudan to Somalia, NE Uganda and N Tanzania; SW Angola, Botswana and W Zimbabwe to N South Africa.

SYNONYMS: annectens , aschenborni, beisa , bezoartica, blainei, callotis , capensis , gallarum, pasan, recticornis, subcallotis.

COMMENTS: Includes beisa ; see Ansell (1972:49).
