TYPE SPECIES: Cervus muntjak Zimmerman, 1780 .

SYNONYMS: Cervulus, Procops, Prox, Stylocerus.

COMMENTS: Muntiacus Rafinesque is a nomen nudum, but was conserved by Opinion 460 of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (1957b). Revised by Groves and Grubb (1990).
