Lectotype (Ali in Taxon 17: 540. 1968): Herb. Linn. No. 933.10 ( LINN) .

Current name: Medicago lupulina L. ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Although Heyn (in Bull. Res. Council Israel, Sect. D, Bot. 7: 162. 1959) discussed some of the original material, she did not designate a lectotype. Despite her comments, 933.10 (LINN) is linked with the Species Plantarum account by the number ( “7”) of this species written on the sheet by Linnaeus. It is original material for the name and was designated as the type by Ali.
