Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition meaning forty in Latin. The name alludes to the number of days of a traditional quarantine and to the fact that this species was described during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Diagnosis. Males ressemble those of H. ubicki s p. nov., H. ilhoa sp. nov. and H. marajoara sp. nov. by the conductor nearly the same size of the embolus, without proximal projection and with single tip, by the absence of endite’s P3 and by the endite’s P1 transversally oriented, folded over itself, adjacent to mp and devoid of prolateral process ( Figs 75C View FIGURES 75 , 81C View FIGURES 81 , 84C View FIGURES 84 ); they differ from those of H. ubicki s p. nov., by the endite’s P2 not laminar, with narrow apices ( Fig. 78C View FIGURES 78 ) (laminar, with broad tip, in H. ubicki s p. nov.), and from those of H. ilhoa sp. nov. and H. marajoara sp. nov.) by the conductor tip narrow, acute ( Fig. 78G View FIGURES 78 ) (conductor tip wide in H. ilhoa sp. nov. and H. marajoara sp. nov. Figs 81H View FIGURES 81 , 84G View FIGURES 84 ). Females differ from those of the other species with a narrow postepigastric plate (distinctly wider than long) bearing a small scape and with narrow book long covers, smaller than the width of pedicel opening ( H. ubicki s p. nov., H. kropfi sp. nov., H. santosi sp. nov. and H. izquerdoi sp. nov.; Figs 33F–H View FIGURES 33 , 56F–H View FIGURES 56 , 74F–H View FIGURES 74 , 86F–H View FIGURES 86 ) by the semicircular posterior margin of postepigastric plate (triangular in H. ubicki s p. nov. and H. izquerdoi sp. nov.), not elevated (elevated in H. santosi sp. nov.), lateral arms of the T-shaped genitalic process thin and by the narrow, multifolded duct ( Figs 77G–H View FIGURES 77 , 78L View FIGURES 78 ) (lateral arms of the T-shaped genitalic process thick; duct wide, with only three folds in Hexapopha kropfi sp. nov.).

Description. Male (PBI_OON 46384). Total length 1.46. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace dark red-brown, with Coxapopha -like pattern, pars cephalica with two posterior humps in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica smooth, sides granulate, fovea present ( Figs 76B–C View FIGURES 76 ). Eyes ALE circular, PME circular, PLE oval; posterior eye row recurved from above, procurved from front; ALE separated by their radius to diameter, ALE-PLE separated by less than ALE radius, PME touching, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius ( Fig. 76E View FIGURES 76 ). Sternum as long as wide, dark red-brown, median concavity absent, with radial furrows between coxae I–II, II–III, III–IV, furrow with rows of small pits, surface smooth, without pits, microsculpture absent, prosoma pedicelar region with process ( Figs 76D View FIGURES 76 , 78B View FIGURES 78 ). Mouthparts: Chelicerae distal region unmodified ( Fig. 76E View FIGURES 76 ). Labium anterior margin anteriorly projecting at middle ( Figs 76B–C View FIGURES 76 ). Endites with a median projection (mp), a P1 and a P2; mp short, directed ventrally; P1 lamellar, situated posteriorly to mp, directed anteriorly, anterior margin serrated. P2 short, lamellar, tip narrow, situated anteriorly to mp and P1 ( Figs 76F View FIGURES 76 , 78C–D View FIGURES 78 ). ABDOMEN: dorsum soft portions orange-brown. Book lung covers small, very narrow. Dorsal scutum dark red-brown, covering full length of abdomen, no soft tissue visible from above. Epigastric scutum not protruding. Postepigastric scutum dark red-brown, almost semicircular, covering nearly full length of abdominal length, fused to epigastric scutum ( Figs 76B,G View FIGURES 76 ). LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore situated at level of posterior spiracles. Palp proximal segments orange-brown; embolus tip flattened, not bent upwards; conductor present, without projections, shorter than embolus, with gradually narrowed tip ( Figs 76G–I View FIGURES 76 , 78E–H View FIGURES 78 ).

Female (PBI_OON 46319). As in male except as noted. Total length 1.50. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace without any pattern, pars cephalica strongly elevated in lateral view ( Fig. 77B View FIGURES 77 ). Clypeus low, ALE separated from margin of carapace by less than their radius ( Fig. 77E View FIGURES 77 ). Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium orange-brown ( Fig. 77D View FIGURES 77 ). GENITALIA: Ventral view: postepigastric plate very short forming a very short postepigastric scape; copulatory orifice slit shaped, very narrow, situated along the entire postepigastric plate. Dorsal view: anterior genitalic process with straight arms; two lateral apodemes present; genital duct long, coiled ( Fig. 76D View FIGURES 76 ).
