Geographic range outside Bali

Widespread throughout warm regions of the Old World. First record for Bali.

Ecology

This seems to be a supertramp species, i.e. an early colonizer of stagnant, fully sun-exposed habitats on raw soil, with fine sand / clay. The beetles seem to dig into the substrate for cover. Often found at light (Fig. 17).
