Belisana lata View in CoL sp. nov.
( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 )
Type material. Holotype male, China: Yunnan Province, Jinghong City (22°01'N, 100°47'E), 23 July 2000, Feng Zhang leg.; paratypes: 1Ƥ, same data as holotype.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ lata ”, meaning wide, and refers to the shape of the distal apophysis on the procursus.
Diagnosis. The new species strongly resembles B. doloduo Huber, 2005 , but can be distinguished by the shapes of the procursus and the bulbal hooked apophysis, and also by the palpal femur with ventral humps ( Figs 8 View FIGURE 8 C–E).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 1.65 (1.95 with clypeus), carapace length 0.69, width 0.81. Leg I: 23.72 (4.61 + 0.18 + 4.46 + 12.74 + 1.73), tibia II: 3.19, tibia III: 2.09, tibia IV: 2.82; tibia I L/d: 57. Habitus as in Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 A, carapace very pale, nearly white; abdomen pale grey, without spots. Ocular area not elevated, thoracic furrow absent. Clypeus yellowish, unmodified. Sternum nearly as long as wide (0.39). Chelicerae as in Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 B, with pair of proximal small rounded projections laterally, and distally a pair of curved apophyses with tips unmodified. Retrolateral trichobothrium of tibia I at 13%; legs pale without spines and curved hairs, with vertical hairs proximally on all metatarsi; tarsus I with 15 pseudosegments, quite distinct distally. Palps as in Figs 8 View FIGURE 8 C–E, trochanter with short rounded retrolateral apophysis; femur with small hump ventrally; procursus simple distally, with ventral membranous flap and wide, flat and dark apophysis; bulb with straight apophysis and simple embolus ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 D).
Female: In general similar to male. Tibia I 2.73. Epigynum very simple externally ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 F). Dorsal view as in Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 G, with wavy sclerotized arch anteriorly, and a pair of wide pore plates.
