( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 )
Type material. Holotype male, China: Guizhou Province, Yinjiang County (28°01'N, 108°25'E), Fanjing Mount, 28 July 2001, Junxia Zhang leg.; paratypes: 2Ƥ, same data as holotype.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ galeiformis ”, meaning hat-shaped, and refers to the shape of the female external genitalia.
Diagnosis. The new species is most similar to B. yalong Tong & Li, 2009 but can be distinguished by the shape of the procursus, the embolus and the broad hooked bulbal apophysis ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 C–D), and also by the female genitalia ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 E–F).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 2.00 (2.07 with clypeus), carapace length 0.80, width 0.65. Leg I: 21.62 (4.55 + 0.36 + 5.60 + 9.40 + 1.71), tibia II: 2.28, tibia III: 1.50, tibia IV: 2.10; tibia I L/d: 86. Habitus as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A, carapace pale ochre-yellow with a pair of indistinctive brownish marks laterally; abdomen ochre-grey, with irregular spots dorsally. Ocular area not elevated, thoracic furrow absent. Clypeus brown, unmodified. Sternum nearly as long as wide (0.52). Chelicerae as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B, with pair of proximal rounded projections laterally, and distally a pair of curved apophyses with tips unmodified. Retrolateral trichobothrium of tibia I at 17%; legs brown without spines and curved hairs, with vertical hairs proximally on all metatarsi; tarsus I with 20 pseudosegments, quite distinct distally. Palps as in Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 C–D, trochanter with short rounded retrolateral apophysis; femur with small hump proximo-dorsally; procursus complicated distally, with ventral membranous flap and straight dorsal spine; bulb with short and broad hooked apophysis and complicated embolus.
Female: In general similar to male. Tibia I in two females: 3.81, 3.79. Epigynum hat-shaped and flat, externally as Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 E. Dorsal view as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 F, with wavy sclerotized arch anteriorly, and a pair of strip-shaped pore plates.
