Genus Osornodella View in CoL n. gen.
Type species: Osornodella gabrielae n. sp. (by monotypy)
Diagnosis: Antennae sexually dimorphic; male antennula and antenna with calceoli of “gammarid” type; mandibular palp without C setae. Maxilliped basal endite with 3 distal strong setae, palp article 3 with distolateral process. Coxae 1–2 without single large setae. Gnathopod 1 smaller than gnathopod 2; propodus of gnathopod 1 approximately rectangular, palm near to 50° of inclination in relation with anterior margin of propodus. Pereopod 3–4 without sexual dimorphism. Coxal gill in pereopod 7 present; posterior margin of epimera 2–3 straight. Endopodite of uropod 3 not reduced; peduncle of uropods 1–2 with no more than 10 setae. Telson as long as wide, slightly cleft.
Etymology: the generic name is composed for “Osorno”, the Chilean province where the specimens were found, and the ending “della”, denoting the relation with the type genus Falklandella .
