Type species: Prostigmaeus tauricus Kuznetsov, 1984 .
Idiosoma elongate. Prodorsal shield with three pairs of setae (vi, ve and sci), setae sce lateral to sci on integument. Setae c 2 lateroventrally placed on shields. Hysterosoma with a relatively long median shield, bearing setae c 1 and d 1; setae e 1 and f 1 placed on four small shields, posterior to median shield. Suranal shield divided or undivided, with three pairs of setae. Terminal eupathidia on palp tarsus separate. Subcapitulum with two pairs of subcapitular setae. Coxisternal shields present. Anogenital area with four pairs of aggenital, three pairs of genital and three pairs of pseudanal setae ( Kuznetsov 1984; Ueckermann & Meyer 1987; Bagheri et al. 2010).
This genus contains three species in the world: P. tauricus Kuznetsov from Ukraine, P. vrystaatensis Ueckermann & Meyer from South Africa, and P. khanjanii Bagheri & Ghorbani from Iran ( Kuznetsov 1984; Ueckermann & Meyer 1987; Bagheri et al. 2010). In this paper the fourth species, P. integrius sp. nov., is described.
