Note: There are a male and two females of S. longispinosus reported for Veracruz, Mexico (Gertsch & Davis, 1946). We were not able to study those specimens as they could not be found in the AMNH collections (L Sorkin, pers. com). Thus, we decided not to include those in the records of S. longispinosus .
