Clavellotis strumosa was collected from the branchial arches of Lithognathus mormyrus and Pagellus erythrinus .
In the Mediterranean, it was reported on P. erythrinus ( Brian 1906) , L. mormyrus ( Ben Hassine et al. 1978) , Diplodus annularis ( Benmansour & Ben Hassine 1997) , P. erythrinus and L. mormyrus ( Raibaut et al. 1998) . This species was already collected on P. erythrinus in Cherchell ( Algeria) by Nunes-Ruivo (1954).
