Species recognition. This species is non-descript, but has a hind femur with a triangular group of short peglike setae followed by a clear concavity. The most similar species are D. scutellaris , which has six scutellar setae and the ventral margin of the hind femur concave below the peglike setae, and D. palenquensis , in which the clear ventral lobe is more basal and the peglike setae are fewer.

Description. Body length: 2.81 mm. Head: Frons dark brown, second row of setae concave. Flagellomere 1 rounded-oval, brown. Palpus of normal size, orange. Thorax: Scutum brown. Scutellum dark brown, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta two-thirds length of posterior seta. Pleuron with proepisternum and dorsum of anepisternum dark brown, rest of pleuron light brown. Costa 0.53 wing length. Halter whitish-yellow. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellow. Foretibia with 4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa dark brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe brown, elongate, narrow. Posterior face of hind femur with basal triangular group of peglike setae; more distally with shallow concavity on small rounded lobe ( Figs 257–258) and Y-shaped clear spot (as in Fig. 304). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 dark brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown with lighter posterior seam. Venter of abdomen gray, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia with epandrium yellowish-brown, hypandrium brown, and cercus yellow.

Distribution. Known from a single site in Amazonian Colombia.

Derivation of specific epithet. Named for the type locality.
