Lectotype. ♂, BRAZIL: Santa Catarina, Lüderwaldt [ LACM ENT 207250 About LACM ] ( Polish Academy of Sciences ; examined).

Species recognition. This species is easily recognized by the large number of peglike setae and the simple curved carina distal to them. Only D. dispar rivals this species for the number of peglike setae, but D. dispar has a rounded concavity distal of the setae.

Description. Note: both specimens are heavily damaged by dermestid beetles. Body length: 2.03–2.28 mm. Head: Frons light brown (darker dorsally), second row of setae concave. Flagellomere 1 round, dark brown. Palpus slightly enlarged, inflated, brown. Thorax: Scutum light brown. Scutellum brown, with setae broken. Pleuron brown. Mean costal length 0.51 wing length (measurement from Borgmeier 1935). Halter yellow. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellow. Foretibia with 4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate, claws of foretarsus greatly elongate. Midcoxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxa yellowishbrown. Hind coxal lobe yellow, only slightly developed. Posterior face of hind femur with large number of peglike setae, with one group on basal raised area, another group more distally, and many placed densely along margin of femur; more distally with curved carina ( Figs 215–216). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 yellow, tergites 2–6 yellow medially, anteriorly and posteriorly, dark brown laterally, with medial yellow area decreasing in every tergite posteriorly. Venter of abdomen yellow, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia with epandrium yellowish-brown, hypandrium brown, and cercus yellow.

Distribution. Known from a single site in southeastern Brazil.

Other material examined. Paralectotype male, same data as lectotype ( Polish Academy of Sciences ) .
