Lectotype. ♂, BRAZIL: Rio de Janeiro: Petrópolis , 23.xi.1922, T. Borgmeier [ LACM ENT 193832 View Materials ] ( MZSP; examined).

Species recognition. This yellow species is most similar to D. crinitiauris , from which it differs by the bare (rather than densely setose) concavity of the hind femur.

Description. Body length: 2.14–2.56 mm. Head: Frons yellow, second row of setae slightly concave. Flagellomere 1 rounded-oval, yellow. Palpus of normal size, yellow. Thorax: Scutum yellow but darkened, due to preservation. Scutellum yellow, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta one-half length of posterior seta. Pleuron yellow. Mean costal length 0.48 wing length, range 0.48–0.49. Halter yellow. Legs mostly yellow. Forecoxa in lateral view yellow. Foretibia with 4–5 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres 1–3 enlarged, inflated. Midcoxa yellow. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe yellow, large, posteriorly rounded. Posterior face of hind femur with peglike setae in transverse basal group; more distally with shallow concavity and small, distally curved ventral process ( Figs 57–58). Abdomen: Abdominal tergites dark brown with lighter posterior seam. Venter of abdomen yellow, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia with epandrium yellowish-brown, hypandrium brown, and cercus yellow.

Distribution. Known from a single site in Brazil.
