Species recognition. With its curved line of curved-tipped peglike setae, this species most closely resembles D. procera , but unlike it there is no emargination in the ventral margin of the hind femur. It is also similar to D. pirirostris , but there are nine peglike setae in D. curvilinea and only five in D. pirirostris .

Scutellum dark brown, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta three-quarters length of posterior seta. Pleuron dark brown. Mean costal length 0.52 wing length, range 0.51–0.52. Halter yellow. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellowish-brown. Foretibia with 6–7 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe yellow, only slightly developed. Posterior face of hind femur with curved single row of curved-tipped peglike setae; more distally with shallow concavity ( Figs 31–32).
