Taxonomy: Chou et al. (1997) re-elevated the taxon to species rank from being a subspecies of G. maculata (Drury, 1773) .

Material Examined: AFSC – Wiang Papao, Chiang Rai.

Distribution: India, Burma, China (Metcalf, 1963a; Chou et al., 1997), and Thailand.
