Distribution: Disjunct; in rainforest zone; W Africa in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Togo; C Africa in NE Angola, Cameroon, Dem. Rep. Congo, S Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea ( Mbini), Gabon, SE Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Uganda (one record; extinct).
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Treated as two evolutionary species, C. dorsalis and C. castaneus by Cotterill (2003 b).
