Diagnosis. The genus is similar to Zhangolidia in having a somewhat broad, tubular aedeagal shaft, with one apical and one subapical process. Mahellus differs from Zhangolidia in having two apical processes of the aedeagal shaft compared to one apical to subapical process in Zhangolidia.
Three species are known from the Oriental region of which two occur in the Indian subcontinent ( Viraktamath & Meshram 2017).
