Material examined. 1 ♀, labeled ‘ INDIA Madras, Palni Hills , 16 km E Kodaikanal , 1400 m, 15.xi.1972, Besuchet & Löbl / Horniella sp. 6, ♀, det. Z.-W. Yin, 2014 ’ ( MHNG).
Measurements. Female ( Fig. 50 View FIGURE 50 F). BL 3.14 mm, HL 0.65 mm, HW 0.56 mm, PL 0.65 mm, PW 0.62 mm, EL 0.84 mm, EW 1.23 mm, AL 1.00 mm, AW 1.23 mm. Each eye composed of about 40 facets.
Distribution. South India: Tamil Nadu ( Map 3 View MAP 3 ).
Remarks. This female is similar to those of H. hirtella distributed throughout Sri Lanka, but the presence of coarse punctation on the head dorsum and pronotum (finely punctate in H. hirtella ), and different form of the genital complex ( Fig. 52 View FIGURE 52 F) indicates that it probably represents a distinct species.
