Atractides (s. str.) zagrosensis Pešić, Saboori & Asadi, 2016

Material examined — IRAN, Khorasan-e Razavi Province, IR13-2022 Kahneh, Kahne stream, 36.6054° N, 56.928° E, 2.viii.2022, leg. Pešić 2♂, 1♀ (sequenced; Table 1), 1♂ dissected and slide mounted ( RMNH) . TÜRKIYE, Aydin Province, TR12-2023 Aydin, Tabakhane stream near Kalfaköy , 37.8744° N, 27.8459° E, 18.iii.2023 leg. Pešić 1♂ (sequenced; Table 1) .

Remarks — The specimens from Iran and Türkiye, used in this study for molecular analysis, morphologically match the description of Atractides zagrosensis from Iran, a species originally described by Pesic et al. (2004) as A. cf. lunipes Lundblad, 1956 on the basis of specimens collected in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari Province. Later on, this taxon was raised to the status of a new species (Pešić et al. 2016). Genetic data indicate that all examined specimens belong to the same species, forming the cluster: BOLD:AFF9958. The latter BIN is solely composed of our specimens, with its closest neighboring BIN (BOLD:AET7893) being that of Atractides corsicus E. Angelier, 1954 , a species known only from Corsica and Sardinia and considered by Gerecke (2021) as an insular sister species of A. lunipes . The new findings presented here indicate that this species has a wider distribution, and the former records of A. lunipes from Türkiye ( Pešić & Erman 2006) very likely belong to A. zagrosensis .
