Distribution: Borneo.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Formerly included in M. muntjak , or in a separate species, M. pleiharicus ; see Chasen (1940:203); however pleiharicus is a synonym of muntjak ; see Groves and Grubb (1982).
